The function of the Treasurer is to receive, keep account of and
disburse all monies of the Society. This is done in accordance with
Society policy and procedure and with the approval of the Borad
of Directors.

Obtain new signature cards for all Society accounts specifying
new officers as custodians by June 30 of the current year.

Serve as the custodian of Society funds, investing and disbursing
them at the direction of the Board of Directors. The approval
of the Board of Directors is required for release of any funds
for purposes other than routine activities of the Society.

Establish and maintain Society checking and other investment
accounts as needed.

Maintain current accounts of all financial transactions of
the Society. This shall be accomplished by maintaining a daily
cash accounting system of Society income and expenses using
a simple journal and ledger system. Procedures used should follow
generally accepted accounting procedures (GAAP).

Advise the Board of Directors and President of procedural changes
that must be made with financial needs.

Submit a written report to the Board of Directors at each regular
Board meeting as to the financial condition of the Society.
Monitor any unusual or excessive expenditures.

Prepare a balanced budget consistent with the Society's strategic
plan. Begin preparation in January and present to the Board
prior to the Annual Meeting each year for approval.

Be a member of the Board of Directors.

Ensure that records are maintained of the receipt of dues.

Advise and report on the feasibility of special committee or
Society activities which may require monies exceeding usual
and customary expenditures.

Make deposits to the bank at least monthly.

Balance the checkbook at least monthly. Compare the checkbook
balance with the ending balance of the journal to ensure agreement.
Reconcile if necessary.

Prepare an annual income statement.

Communicate with the IRS, the Society's Agent, bank and Secretary
of State regarding corporate status.

Ensure that PPAC, ACPE, and other Board authorized expenses
are budgeted and paid in a timely manner.

Ensure that an audit of the books is done annually in May by
a Board designated party.

Ensure that the request for reimbursement from ASHP for persons
attending the RDC is completed and that the monies are received.

Serve as Treasurer of the Education and Research Foundation
and coordinate all funds therein in a similar manner.
