The function of the President Elect is to participate in MSHP activities,
make committee appointments and establish objectives in preparation
for the presidential year.

Perform the duties of the office of the President whenever
the President shall be unable to do so.

Be a member of the Board of Directors.

Prepare an address for presentation at the Annual Meeting of
MSHP at which he/she is to be installed as President.

Appoint chairmen of committees for the presidential year. By
May, he/she should have determined suitable candidates for committee
assignment, contacted them and received acceptance of appointments.

Work with the Treasurer to prepare a proposed budget for the
upcoming fiscal year.

Be available to assist the President in travel appearances
when necessary.

Be an ex-officio member of all committees to facilitate communications
during the presidential year.

Serve as a voting MSHP representative to the PPAC.

Prepare the election slate

Consult with other presidential officers prior to taking office.

Serve as Vice President of the Research and Education Foundation.
