MSHP Public Policy Update
MSHP's Letter to MO Health Net
The Public Policy Committee shall:
1. Monitor and report to the Board of Directors on federal and state
legislative activity bearing on the practice of health-system
pharmacy.
2. Recommend strategies requiring either the development of
legislation or regulations which the Committee feels will enhance
the practice of health-system pharmacy in Missouri.
3. Promote and recommend amendments to existing rules and
regulations governing the practice of health-system pharmacy which
the Society supports to enhance the practice of health-system
pharmacy.
4. Make recommendations to the Board of Directors with regard to
public policy-making for the Society.
5. Consult with the Board before taking any position on legal and
regulatory issues on behalf of the Society.
6. Disseminate information on legal and regulatory issues to the
membership in a timely manner through the Society newsletter,
society website, and/or e mail.
7. Maintain a legislative grassroots network of health-system
pharmacists to maximize the impact of the Society on important
public policy issues.
8. Foster the involvement of Society members in public policy
activities and advocate the role of the health-system pharmacist in
the delivery of pharmacy care to the public.
